Northbridge Publications
Years ago, Northbridge was the home of Whitin Machine Works. Most men in town worked for what was then and now, called "The Shop". Today, while there are businesses working within the massive complex, it is a shadow of it's former self. Back then, WMW pretty much ran the town.
During World War II, a committee of mostly WMW employees produced a newsletter called News from Home, starting in November 1942. This was sent to the town's service men and women serving around the world. I am scanning these publications because I think that it's important that today's generations see them. They give an interesting insight into how things were at that time. Viewers from Northbridge and the surrounding area are bound to recognize some of the names in these issues.
There may be a page or 2 missing from some issues. In fact, you will see that entire issues are missing. I would like to have the complete set, but after over 60 years that may not be possible. I you know a source, please contact me.
Viewing requires Adobe Reader or the equivalent. Here is a free download.
